Documentation required for Customs Clearance:
- Customs Declaration - commonly known as the Documento Único, as it is based on the format of the Single Administrative Document. This is generally completed by Customs Brokers on behalf of importers. Copies of the Documento Único are available from the Imprensa Nacional (National Printers) at USDlO.00 per set.
- Original Bill of Lading or Air Waybill or other shipping documents, identifying the importer as the consignee.
- Original Commercial Invoice - showing the name and address of the supplier; name and address of the importer in Angola; description and quantity of goods; FOB value; freight and insurance and total CIF value.
- CRF - for goods subject to Pre-shipment Inspection, as applicable.
- Certificate from the Conselho Nacional de Carregadores de Angola (National Carriers’ Council);
- Modelo O (for the clearance of vehicles) - this form is no longer required for Customs clearance. However, it is sold by Customs and must be completed by Brokers for submission to the Direcção Nacional de Viação e Trânsito (Vehicle Registration Office), together with a copy of the Customs Release Note and the DAR (Receipt of payment of duties), in order to register imported vehicles.

Clearance Times
Provided all documentation is in order and accepted by Customs, and duties paid on time, the processing system will complete the clearance of goods within 48 hours. Goods remaining uncleared for more than 30 days at the airport, and for more than 60 days at the Port, may be confiscated and sold at auction. There is a fine of 5% on the Customs value of the goods for goods exceeding the legal time limits stated above.
